Before investing, it's essential to understand the tax implications of these investments. As a French tax resident, your earnings (interest income) will be taxed in France, but may also be subject to withholding tax in Spain. Fortunately, the tax treaty between France and Spain makes it possible to avoid this double taxation; all you need to do is provide proof that you are a French resident. The tax treaty between France and Spain enables double taxation to be avoided. All you need to do is prove that you are resident in France.
To do this, you'll need to have a tax residence certificate validated by the tax authorities. This is the form n°731 if you are investing as an individual. You'll need to fill it in and send it to the tax department via the secure messaging system on the impôts.gouv.fr which will return the signed document to you, for onward transmission to Raizers.
This document must be renewed every year for as long as you have investments in Spanish operations.

Once these steps have been taken, you will automatically be exempt from Spanish withholding tax, and will be subject only to your usual French tax regime.

Once this certificate has been obtained and sent to Raizers, your income from this investment will not be taxed at source in Spain.
